Hey hey! We are proud to announce that WB’s own Cristin O’Keefe Aptowicz has been awarded a prestigious 2013 Amy Clampitt Residency! The award means COA will spend six months living & writing in a “charming, fully furnished, 3-bedroom, 2-story house in Stockbridge, MA” and will receive a $2,500 monthly stipend. SWEET. COA will be touring a bunch before she enters the residency, so check her out when she comes through to your town! And pick up any (or all!) of her WB titles — Dear Future Boyfriend, Hot Teen Slut, Working Class Represent, Oh Terrible Youth and Everything is Everything — from COA herself or at your favorite local or online bookstore! CONGRATS, COA!
And if you are going to AWP 2012, you can meet Cristin at the WRITE BLOODY TABLE in the AWP Book Fair. Write Bloody is proud to be making it’s AWP debut. Come meet WB El Capitan DERRICK BROWN (and WB authors like COA, Robbie Q. Telfer, Tim Stafford, Anis Mojgani, Laura Yes Yes and Stevie Edwards, among others) and buy fresh off the presses WB books! If you ain’t satisfied yet, come to the Friday afternoon AWP panel starring Derrick, Robbie & Cristin! And if you don’t have a AWP badge but still like to party, come on out to the March 2nd WRITE BLOODY WORD PARTY (http://www.facebook.com/events/231393990284738/), featuring readings and performance from a stellar line-up of WB authors. Party starts Elastic Arts at 9:30pm, with $5 cover, $3 discounted rate for students and artists. Open to ALL and BYOB. And the B stands for BUNS.

Do you think bookstores will only have www. addresses one day?! A recent article in the New York Times reminds us what stores need to be successful: quality customer relations, a comfortable, homey atmosphere and, most importantly, the support of a literary-hungry, loving community. Read this article to see how powerful the passion can be!

Derrick has updated his shows page on brownpoetry.com! CHECK IT OUT HERE
On October 16th he’ll be doing a show with Timmy Straw and Emily Wells. You’ll have to shove a stick of adrenaline into the Netherlands’ heart after they overdose with that kind of talent.
Then on October 21st he’ll be acting out the uniquely choreographed dance show with Noord Nederlandse Dans for his new book of poetry, STRANGE LIGHT. Do not miss it.
Then it’s back to the states on October 30th for “ANOTHER WORD FOR WORD” at the Bowery Poetry Club with superwoman Amber Tamblyn.
One must wonder how Derrick manages to live a normal life while constantly touring.
He doesn’t.
So support this weirdo by going to his rad shows.
