Ah, the magic of hitting the road. The wonder of the endless asphalt. The weird dreams from sagging couches. The amazing strangers and booking stress. The diseased brothels. It’s mandatory for all WB authors to tour and Josh Boyd and Jay jammed through much of Texas in unique venues, even stopping to perform on a popular country music station in Dallas. Yes, neither play country music, but they have both eaten things that wouldn’t die. Hot damn the folks in the Dallas bars were open minded and blown away. One night in a western Rooster bar Jay sold 87 cd’s and Josh sold 62 books. Here’s a sample of what Jay can do. Josh is waiting for you at joshboydpoetry.com. Check out his wonderful debut, catacomb confetti.
Jay Buchanan wails into the streets of Long beach.

First off, it’s been our best year ever. Before I go into it, I have to say, Holy Lord, Cristin Okeefe Aptowicz won the National Endowment for the Arts prize for her work in her book we released called Everything is Everything! I can believe it. She is a powerhouse and deserves it. Check out aptowicz.com to learn more and give her a shout out. Writefuzzy.com is finally launched and our new kids books are hardcover and look really sweet. I am amazed at how much work it takes to produce a kids book. I love seeing the color and the hard cover like a big cookbook. More coming in 2011. I feel lucky to get to do this. Thank you all for going against the trend statements that say publishing is dead. Thank you for loving books, and thank you for finding us. We are small and punchy and are also glad to have found you. Merry Christmas. Here’s to the ongoing marriage of words and blood.
