Brown was set to take a ten year break and after 2 and a half years a retreat with Cristin O’keefe Aptowicz, a tour with Eugene Mirman and time wandering Texas inspired a new collection, set to be his best.
Derrick Brown has written 4 books of poetry and won the 2013 Texas Book of The Year award for Poetry. A paratrooper for the 82nd Airborne, he is the president of what Forbes and Filter Magazine call “…one of the best independent presses in the country”.
